Sweet Lettuce Mix
SEASON: Year-round
KEEP YOUR GREENS FRESH: Rewashing our salad can shorten its shelf life, as any water left over starts spoiling the leaves. Putting a dry paper towel into your bag or spinner of greens can help absorb water, and keeping the bags sealed with an amount of air in them also keeps the greens from getting clumped, squished and water-logged.

Our sweet mix is like the gentler, more sensitive sibling of our spring mix. Its' mild, sweet flavor and softer, uniform texture is great for kids and adults alike who have a hard time with some of the stronger flavors in our baby mixed greens. Sweet mix contains many of the same mild lettuces as our baby mix, like red and green leaf, but we don't add in the more adventuresome greens like the red chard, radicchio or, to some people's delight, frisee.
Not to be completely overshadowed by our baby mix, however, sweet mix is a great base for people looking to work with more subtle ingredients, or a more ingredient-focused dish, since its overall taste will not compete with or outshine other flavors in a particular recipe. Mild, sweet and slightly earthy, sweet mix is great with lighter or oil based dressings, more nuanced cheeses or salads with a few stronger-flavored ingredients like apples and other tangy or sweet fruits.
Storage
Keeping our salad cold and preventing excess moisture build-up is the key to extending its crisp freshness. Try to put it in the fridge as soon as possible.
Nutrition
Our sweet mix contains good amounts of folate, vitamins A, C and K, and antioxidants.
