Happy Boy Produce Partners
New Leaf Community Markets

New Leaf Community Markets have been directly supporting local farmers like Happy Boy along California’s Central Coast for over 25 years. After that many years, you’d better believe New Leaf knows good produce. A pillar of the local farm direct and field to fork movements, New Leaf has had an enduring partnership with Happy Boy Farms, offering our high quality produce to the community at large. As one New Leafer put it, “You’ll find the best produce in town at the farmers' market… And for the days you can’t get to the farmers' market, there’s New Leaf.”
From its humble beginnings on the Westside of Santa Cruz, New Leaf has expanded to six stores throughout the region—the Westside and Downtown Santa Cruz, Capitola, Felton, Boulder Creek, and Half Moon Bay. While expanding over the years, New Leaf has always maintained its original commitment to locally grown, field fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. New Leaf was the first retail partner on the Central Coast to support CAFF’s Buy Fresh, Buy Local campaign. In fact, New Leaf buys over 100 different produce items from over 40 local growers on a year round basis! In addition to supporting local growers, New Leaf also has a strong commitment to sustain Central Coast communities, donating 10% of profits annually to local non-profit groups.
Happy Boy owner Greg Beccio’s history with New Leaf dates back to pre-Happy Boy days in the early nineties. Needless to say, New Leaf has been a key support for Happy Boy since the very beginning. While the various New Leaf stores offer many different Happy Boy crops, some of the most popular are Baby Salad Mix, Baby Spinach, Radishes, Summer Squash, Heirloom Tomatoes, and Cherry Tomatoes.
Thanks to their commitment, sense of community, and dedication to supporting local farms, you can be sure to find your favorite Happy Boy Farms produce at your local New Leaf!
